That is certainly true, Noodle, and I would never discourage someone from going to school and graduating. College degrees will always open more doors. I was simply try to address the assumption I think the OP is making that you go to school to become a manga-ka. My main point is that being a manga-ka isn't a job you apply for. It's more of a lifestyle, and you are either one of the lucky lucky few who can make a career out of it, or you aren't (not unlike rock musicians).
