Oddly enough, I would be the exception to the rule. I view my 15 yr. marriage as having been primarily a business contract. in fact we were business partners and saw it as a way to avoid attorney fees for partnership contracts.
BUT I am in total agreement that in almost all cases the contractual aspect of a marriage is almost absent in the couple's thinking. And to back that up I can attest to far more than only 100 people giving me looks of disbelief when I explain the situation of my former marriage, and not 1 person in the past 16 years since my divorce that has felt that my view was normal.
Xyzone, you seem to be making judgement calls based on adolescent heresay, rather than laudible experience or even valid, unbiased research.
