My favorite Japanese comedian who was popular when I lived there was the guy who does パペットマペット. I guess he goes by the name 黒子?

I remember how excited I was to find a Japanese comedian whose language I could understand!
I also saw a show once that had two or three women of about middle age. I think one was named Naoko. It was so funny—they had a lot of funny skits. It reminded me a lot of the Carol Burnet Show (a very famous comedy and variety show in the US). I got the sense they were famous comediennes.

I understood about 70% of it the first time through, and I struggle to pick up a few random words here and there. But 70% is a good amount to understand in a comedy routine. It's definitely enough to laugh out loud!
