A little background:
I'm having a hard time trying to understand this sentences. This comes from a Japanese girl.We met here in Mexico, and after hanging out for a while i started liking her more than friends. I showed her my feelings and in the end it seems she likes me as well...
However, due to sudden change of plans, she had to return to Japan.Even if she gave me a lot of approval signs,in the end she told me she wasn't interested in a relationship at the moment, and that it would be better for us to be friends, because she'll be spending her time pretty much trying to find a job and a place to live (she'll stay with her relatives in the meantime)
Here's the portion of the message:
もっと他人のことや他人の気持ちをわかるようにキヅカ ッテあげられるひとになってほしいとねがっています OK? ラウルならできるよ!楽しみにしていますね 人にナヤミを言う前に 他人のナヤミをきいてあげられ る人になってほしいと・・・
I kinda understood that i should hear other person's problems and concerns before talking about mine.
Question 1:
By saying [他人」is she referring to herself in any way?
Question 2:
Overall, is she saying that if i lear to be more of a listener when it's needed something might happen?i came to think about this because of this「ほしいと・・・」but im not sure.
Sorry for the long post, hope someonecan shed md some light ln this!

1. That's possible. Literally, it just means "other people".
2. Overall, she is saying "Don't be so self-centered." She doesn't say "Be a listener." She says it's ok if you must go to others to solve your problems but you also need to be the one that's sensitive to the needs of others. In essence, she's saying "Be a bigger man, Raul!"
