This makes me happy. I think Twilight is the literary equivalent of Nickelback's music. Sterile, soulless, immature creation that has somehow made millions of dollars.

Don't get me wrong—I can enjoy almost any book and respect the author. But, to me, Twilight is the most vapid of writing, and I think it is harming young writers by thinking this level of writing is something to which they should aspire.

Regardless, I know I'm harsh on the books. Nyororin, I think you were much more level-headed in your discussion, although I really couldn't even find enjoyment in the books (well, I never made it through all four). Probably because I'm a 26-year-old male, not a 12-year-old girl.
