I tend not to have a problem with people asking questions that could be answered with a search. The thing that bothers me is when people ask a dictionary question. "How do you say 'lock' in Japanese?" is basically what you asked.
But it's OK. You're a serious and good student, so I believe you just got caught up in the moment and asked, rather than just saying "too lazy to go to dictionary.com."
And it's not like I'm the moral center of JF!
