If you think that spending 2 to 4 years in university is a "waste", then you are not thinking realistically, and you are resigning yourself to life as a second-class person.

Nothing worth having comes easily. If you want something, you must put in the time and effort to earn it. Only the things we work hard to get have any real value. Education is the most important of these things.

Education is everything, every Japanese understands that, and that is why they require a 4 year or better degree.
