If its the place I think it is (Ihimeken?) The hot springs that inspired Spirited Away is surrounded by modern urban buildings featuring a shopping mall.

Its still a nice place though and is the oldest bathhouse in Japan... just dont go expecting of a big place in the countryside overlooking beautiful scenery.
