As someone from the older generation I find the modern phones actually incredible.

We did not have telephones when I was young and did not miss them. Often it was only wealthy people who could afford a phone-- it was considered a luxury. It was very difficult if someone was ill and one needed a doctor, but there were public phone boxes.

Many a time I could have done with a mobile phone-- so useful to send or receive important messages, save a great deal of worry if someone who is away is travelling and is late home.

I think mobile phones are a marvellous invention-- although some people seem to be permanently glued to their phone whereever they are.

For me they are useful-- but I do not use mine as my family do-- they always seem to be on them.

Who would have imagined such an invention fifty years ago?

I gather they can even get you on the net now-- amazing. Such technology is moving so fast-- No doubt I am way behind where technology is concerned.

I have a landline at home so only use mobile when we are out in emergency.
