A picture says more than a thousand words so without any delay whatsoever I present you a japanese living room (interior designer level of course). The main thing to notice is the low rise furniture like CN mentioned in his first post and also the lack of cluttering. It's a simple laid out place and shows understated elegance in placement. Sooo captivating



what is wonderful to note is the lighting effects too. Paper lampshades are all the rage in japanese style furnishing. I remember reading a story somewhere that even stated that both the japan fan and the paper lantern were invented in Japan from a challenge by the ruler to a peasant asking him to capture flames and wind in paper. Of course this is probably an old wives tale but we just have to admit it looks great in the living room.
