There is being bad at golf and losing to let your boss win.
Being bad at golf means everyone is forced to wait for you as you dilly-dally up to the green.
Losing to let your boss win means you beat your boss to the green so he is not waiting for you to get to the green and then you four-putt your hole so boss gets the lower score.
Two very different things.
