OM was a great source where one can read the comic for free. It was fun while it lasted and sad to see it gone entirely away. I never argued it was O.K. for OM to continue. I was just refering that many of us really loved OM and could have enjoy it more if it stayed online.
Like most things in life, if it has to do with money, people will do whatever it takes to bring you down and one of the best way to do it legally is by suing. Perhaps manga creators and publishers lack the fund to continue or wants to benefit more by taking down OM. But you cannot deny the fact, there are many other scenario out there that can easily be argued.
I was basically pointing out where do you set the line? Today, as it seems, the longer human survive, the more laws being created. If we do not bomb ourselves, in the distant future, say year 7010, I bet what we are doing here will be illegal

The "slippery slope" argument doesn't work here. What OM was doing was CLEARLY illegal in every sense of the word. Just because it was popular doesn't make it legal. No new laws were enacted to take OM down. It just took as long as it did to do it.

I do not know what you mean here.
