You're effectively demanding that Japan and the United States break the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan. You simply don't understand the implications of this, ronin4hire. Japan and the United States work together, and the JSDF maintains autonomy from the US military. For the time being, the Japanese political right will have to accept this, because much like Germany, it's not going to change anytime soon.

My position is that the relationship between Japan and the US is a practical and pragmatic one based on mutual gain. As soon as Japan feels that it will gain more by getting rid of the alliance it will and the same goes for the US. It has nothing to do with WW2 or being "allowed" to do anything.
