There wasn't an attic (they turned it into the Library) but there was a box-room (しゅうのうしつ?) full of really old suitcases and theatre equipment. The school building in the photo was actually used as an army hospital in WW2 as well, and under the stage, there's a bomb shelter (ぼうくうごう?) with a ramp so they could just wheel all the patients down there in their beds! Our school was pretty exciting really!
