I think dialects and accents are fabulous. so much variety depending where you live or who you mix with.

I love someof the west country accents very much-- where I live there are many ex Londoners-- so there is always that kind of slightly cockney sound.

treasure your individuality.

In the olden days the BBC always used presenters with so called POSH accents. Nowadays we have presenters or newsreaders---- from various places in the UK-- so it adds variety and spice. I admit to disliking some accents but I believe they are important and precious to retain.

surely every country must have individual ways of speech too.

When I lived in Scotland as a Sassenach-- the Scots people definitely exaggerated their own accent so I couldn't understand a word they uttered. It was really funny.

One thing that intrigues me is that even when people travel far from their own land for a long time, many still retain their original way of speaking so that others will ask them where they are from. Yorkshire in particular which I love.

Long live our accents.
