In Japan, that just doesn't happen. "I'm invited to Nick's wedding. Wanna come along with me?" This is simply an impossible line over here. If this can happen in your country, then you can use 誘う.


My mistake. I have forgotten to alter it into passive.


"(私は)Nickさんに結婚式に招待されました/呼ばれました."


As for the second question. So am I right to say that I have to stick with "呼びました" even though I am not the first inviter (host/sponsor).

私はTomさんを結婚式に呼ばれました。
I invited Tom to the wedding ceremony.
