How about telling us how exactly are you lost? Like, button-wise or orientation-wise..? If it helps, you could printscreen the image of the problem and show it to us. 
EDIT: Go to your User CP. On the left side there is a Control Panel. Look for and click on "Edit Options". A new screen with user options that can be checked (ticked) will be presented to you. Scroll down and find "Private Messaging". Check "Enable Private Messaging".
