No it's not.

That all depends on how you learn....you take it slow, do it on and off....then yeah...it will take you a long time.


BUT, if you just surround yourself with Japanese all day-everyday with absolute immersion then you'll be near fluent in about 1.5 years.


People don't want to take the time to do it though.
