I agree with Nyororin, that seeing the script of, say, a TV drama could be helpful as you could see the kanji in context with the pronunciation, but it wouldn't help much if you didn't know what the word meant.

I see in Japan they sell transcript/translations of English language movies, so someone can watch a movie and read along in English and Japanese at the same time.

A manga audio book. That's a new idea.
