Yeah that seems to be the way most people go as time passes. Everyone seems to have those series that they'll always hold onto. I'm probably along the lines of not seeing anything new for about 5 or 6 months, but I usually always fall back on my old reliable series.
Here in the UK we have NO anime on TV at ANY time of day, except for Pokemon on the kids channel! XD
I agree that it'd probably end up being a big distraction for anyone
