Many foreigners have a different experience here, they attach to others like them and form their own little bubble which is very difficult to join for any japanese people... and they live in miniature versions of wherever they come from. A lot like many Japanese people do when they visit other countries.
My 2 years has been intense, difficult, fun, and a huge learning experience.
Making friends in Japan is enormously difficult for a foreigner.
Adjusting to the culture is a lot more difficult here than in any other (of the 4) countries I've lived in.
It's beautiful and painful, in all ways. I've fallen for it though, in it's glory and sadness. I don't think I could leave.
Oh and if you're still reading: you need a bachelors to get a work visa, it's a req, a 2yr degree might not cut it.

Anyway, I do intend to get a BA, but why not reside in Japan after grasping a little bit of the Language. I'm going to learn Japanese from a School that's sponsored by the Embassy of Japan.
