I am not sure if I am correct here, but I think I should say "ラジオを切る" if I am turning off the power switch by pressing the button directly. And if I am using a remote control to turn off to radio, then my guess is that "ラジオをけす" is what I should say instead. Or am I wrong again?
The only reason that I had introduced the word つける is that you can use it as the antonym of 切る all the time. Bring your teacher here and I will explain some things to him/her.

You can say both ラジオを切る and ラジオを消す. Your "power switch vs. remote control" logic really throws me.
