I'm honestly not a fan of either American or Japanese TV,
they are very different, and both appeal to what seems to be pure stupidity or a desire to be dulled into your couch, luckily neither of which I am or have.

I don't know about american tv realism, most the shows I've seen had pretty intense suspension of disbelief required to keep watching them, especially csi.

I agree with the irritating morality plots, seems like no one can tell a story without having to push some sense of morality on it's listeners. This is another example of how tv isn't realistic though, real life is hardly so moral haha.

Japanese tv... anime aside... doesn't seem to make much of an effort at hiding that it is a time-killer.
