As you probably know mixi only allows you to register if you have a japanese cell phone. (i suspect because they don`t want people to create numerous accounts) the only loophole is by having a .edu account which i guess because you usually can only get one .edu account from your school. There is a website called australia.edu to which i have registered like 10 but i never get accepted!
So this is where the BIG GIGANTIC favor comes in....
If you have a .edu email and you havent already, or arent planning to use it for mixi can you go to this url:

put in your .edu email and press the orange button. When you get the email can you send me the conformation link in a private message on here? When i go to my settings on mixi i will change it from your email to mines so i can message my friends in japan! Thank you sooo much
