I can understand some of the hostels, because when you have multiple people in a room, the atmosphere of people coming in and out at all times can cause problems. especially bunk mates.

but for many hotels, they seem to have the same thing. Seems kind of strange. I did a Google search and forum search and didn't come across any info.

another thing, a lot of business hotels have a reverse curfew, you have to be out by 8 or 9 and cant get back in till 4-5pm!
