Still feeling aftershocks after five and a half hours. It is night here now, tomorrow's pictures will be pretty bad.
People in Tokyo remain stranded, it looks like many are going to spend the night at their workplaces, the convenience stores are packed, and people are carrying lots of beer and snacks back to their offices. Thankfully I had today off work, it would have been a long walk home.
The current death toll is 17, and is certain to rise. One person was killed in Marunouchi (next to Tokyo Station), where I was riding my bike half an hour before the quake.
