Hi All, I first registered on this site to learn about Japanese food but I haven't been on it for ages hardly use it anymore, glad I haven't deleted my account cos then I wouldve just had to make another to make this post..

I just wanna say first how sorry I am for what has befallen this beautiful country and from what I have witnessed so far on the news, which is non-stop over here(Britain), from what I have witness I see that it is a beautiful country with equally beautiful people. I'm feeling great admiration for the Japanese every time I see this news cos I don't know if anyone else has noted this but I am amazed by their reactions to this disaster, they are so calm it's unreal and no violence looting panicking etc etc, no offense intended anyone here from New Orleans, but I can't help but think of when I saw the whole Hurricane Katerina thing on the news it was a very different picture and as well as feeling deeply saddened by the events I was also disgusted by some of the stories coming out of that area.

I'm very very amazed by the reaction to this disaster, and very humbled by the nobility of these people even in this most trying of time. I watched the news on C5 this evening and there were shots of people searching among the debris for loved ones and there was this guy searching for his daughter, something he said stuck in my head, he said he didn't like all these foreign reporters coming here filming his country when its like this because - Japan will rise again.
