Just because we are developed doesn't mean everyone is fine and dandy everywhere. Money is not distributed evenly and some people need it.

The role of government is to ensure the wellbeing of it's people. Not citizens from other parts of the world.

When it is incapable of doing this then I don't see a problem helping.

A country like Japan probably needs a hand with a lot of things. It could always do with extra search and rescue teams, engineers and materials etc. and I fully SUPPORT this.

But what it isn't lacking is money.

I'm not telling people what to do with their money. I'm making a case for developing countries to take priority over developed countries for our charity.

If you can't see the rationale behind that then oh well.. I can't help you.

PS- Please read what's already been written. All I've done is rehash the argument for you.
