Hi, i'm new here!!!
coming through from New York, USA
I stumbled across this community quite by accident
My name is Elizabeth
Actually what really returned me to my interests in Asian culture, was
mostly because of the music in video games (and the video games themselves as well).
I've been playing games since I first started breathing practically and watching cartoons from when I was little kid (Gigantor, Speed Racer), Godzilla movies, The Master Akira Kurosawa --I also have the same birthday as him, he would have been 101 yars old on the 23rd of this month).
Several years ago I went through an abusive and traumatizing experience in my life and I was getting feelings that my personal life was in jeopardy of being cornered, antagonized, isolated, alienated, desensitized, depersonalized, repressed and anti-social in nature== most music also to me was progressively getting extremely morbidly boring, staid, suffocating, stagnant, mundane, expressionless and redundant and pretensious.
Collecting Pokemon toys for my kids, the cards, anime cartoons, the manga, The games, the music, the movies all piqued my interests.
Listening to MUCC for the first time. That's what started my road to recovery and new found strength and confidence in myself and changed my whole perspective on life, it woke me up!
Throughout my whole life, I've always loved to learn about new languages and etymology and appreciating different cultures throughout the globe and just learning in general. Japan is just one of them.
Extremely refreshing!
Maybe because I am just naturally curious and I just love learning about new things in general to keep
my brain active and not turn it into an ameoba like-resembling type mush.
If I'm not reading a dictionary and there's nothing around to read I'll start reading the Encyclopedia. I just love to read anything and everything.
