色々な作家が日本の「自分」の概念を論じるしたことは ありまして、日本とアメリカを比較する研究もあります 。この研究はいいと言われて、なぜかというと、日本は 集団的な社会だと信じられている概念を誤りを暴くから です。アメリカに比べるとしたら、アメリカには「自分 」が一番大切です。社会はみんな集団的に振舞いますが 、個人もあります。以前言ったとおり、日本は子ども、 大人ももちろん、訓練をするのがうまくて、集団のため のことを、個人のためのことよりも大切にするほうがい いという考えが見られます。
Many writers have discussed the japanese concept of self. Some compare Japan and America. These studies are good because they debunk the strereotypical view of Japan as a group oriented society as opposed to america where the individual is supposed to be paramount.
All societies have some behaviours that are practised in groups and they all certinly have "individuals". Japan has a superabundance of the latter, but it is also very good at training children and therefOre adultS, sometimes to put their own needs secoNd to those of a wider group.
