Oh, I remember reading an article about that. They were poisonous enough to kill people susceptible to it, but not sure if they shot out acid . . . I'll do a quick search and find you the article, it may have even been on this forum. I'll do an edit and add it in a few minutes.
The bugs in Japan do terrify me, I've seen photos comparing them in size to people's hands or insects here . . . they seem huge! Not good for an insectophobe XD

Asian giant hornet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - and those are what you mean, I think. They're hornets, not wasps, but they are poisonous to a select few who are allergic to them, but - again - don't shoot acid, lol.
