I don't know about
all television, but we certainly have some of the best comedy and comedians. I love all the old shows like Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers etc., but in modern day quality comedy seems to lacking somewhat, but shows like QI are rather amusing.
I think there's good and bad about the television in most nations, for example I adore the dramas in the US. Indian television has some great musicals and romances, too.
I really don't have much good to say about Japanese television, though . . . the NHK seems to broadcast some good shows, but the only other shows I get to see (being that I'm not inside Japan) are anime or mindless gameshows. Ninja Warrior and Takeshi's Castle seem like the most mind-numbing, braindead kind of shows I've ever seen, so repetitive and pointless. I do adore a fair few Japanese movies, but the only television of theirs that's aired here is truly cringe-worthy.
