Cause I can't think of many differences in language, other than the accent and a few words they use that are not used in American, but I can't see how that would be a problem once you learn them, really.
If you find it difficult to understand "what most British people try to tell you" when they are communicating in English, maybe the problem is you're not as good at it as you claim to be.

Suki hunny^^ you know I am good! I traveled around the Globe only using English to get along. Thats where I have this experience from.
The difference is of course the accent.
British people = very hard to understand
Scotish/Irish = almost impossible for starters
American = Easy
German non-Native = Easy
