Fullmetal Alchemist is a great anime with such a wonderful story!
I also recommend some of the shounen anime such as Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
I'm also currently watching Fairy Tail which is an epic, humorous show about mages ^^
