～よてい and ～つもり -

I remember someone saying that there is a slight difference between ～よてい and ～つもり. Something to do with a greater strength in using one or the other. Was it ～つもり that expressed a stronger intention than ～よてい ?
Don't let pride get in the way of learning...there's always more to learn.
