Yeah, Bobby hasn't a clue here....

Short version:

Grandparents (mother's side) born in the Basque country.
Grandfather was director of The Bank of the Philippine Islands (a Spanish Bank then) in Manila and later sent to Cebu City.
My mother was born in Cebu City and lived there until a year after the liberation. She moved to Madrid and later met my American father.
I was born and raised in Madrid for 21 years until I went to the USAF and Japan back in 1987. That was my first Japan experience.... 2 years in Tohoku.
