It's definitely odd to see someone wearing a kimono so often. The only ones are older women when they have an event or off to the temple.
The younger generation wear kimono for graduations, weddings and things like that while yukata are purely summer time for fireworks and festivals. It's sad how many young people don't know how or care how to properly wear yukata and kimono....
