I think you're beautiful and your dedication in a relationship is envious.
Your respect for yourself is admirable.

Sometimes life doesn't work out like planned and that's not necessarily good or bad. Some relationships I look back on were beautiful but were relationships that couldn't be sustained.

I'm sure yours is compounded though because you moved to Japan and an end to a relationship under these circumstances is a life-altering event (even more so than normal.)

I doubt any words can help heartbreak though...they never helped me anyway. lol
