We have an abbatoir in our village, we drove past today with the windows down . . . have you ever heard a pig squealing in either agony or terror? I was tempted never to touch meat again, and I can understand now why Clarice was so freaking traumatised in "Silence of the Lambs". If people could hear that sound I don't think people would eat as much meat as they do . . .
