Not wanting to get too involved in this conversation buuut,

I did notice a certain trend the last few times I've been in Tokyo. The guys who I saw in workout clothes, carrying gym bags, with a very body conscious stockier muscled physique were for the most part gay. (hanging out in groups with similar looking guys in the gay neighborhood) I'm not saying this was only a part of the gay subculture but that is where I noticed it most.

Most of the straight guys seem to conform to what the fashionable city girls like in a guy - a slim build that can wear fashion and look good with them. Most of the other heavily muscled guys I saw were either construction workers or yaks. That association could be a turn off? I am sure there are Japanese women that like a heavily muscled guy.

I am sure if a girl is "easy" enough she will say she likes your build no matter what you look like, but that's true anywhere.
