A certain part of any human society seems to have less ability to cut through the propaganda and understand what it is in their best interest. Over the centuries there may be less and less % of this clueless part as it continues to reduce with improved sources of and access to information.

I would say that the Ryzorian's of the world are not at fault, it is rather the arrogance of the Gonative liberal progressives who believe in the superiority of their ideas, recognize that there is this clueless part and that the Ryzorains cannot understand reality as the Gonatives understand them. Well, if they could then there would be no Ryzorian, and all would be Gonatives.

According to my hypothesis of Historical Continuity, it creates disruption if we try to force a population to change and shove unpopular idea's down their throat. People must be given space and time to make voluntary changes. And planned and organized propaganda on their terms may help them make these changes a little faster.

So Leo Strauss and his Neo-con's understood this well and are at the root of the rise of the right wing Christian revivalism, which gave a boost to Republican party when they were able to recruit the religious right, aka the former Southern Democrats who got upset with Democratic Party when they supported the civil rights of black African Americans. The Democrats became the loosers and they are still clueless about how to fix this problem.

The solution is to start a Democratic Neo-con that will embrace religion and social conservative values and leave the cultural/social issues for the states to decide, whereas attempts should be made to unite a majority of the 98% on fiscal issues that it is good to tax the super rich, to have a minimum safety net minus the waste and abuse like Nordic Model and to have affordable or free education and nationalized healthcare etc. People can take back the power from the rich elite, but they need to organize, perhaps through social media sites and have more direct-democracy (Swiss style) organizations that will start functioning as independent groups who would then join the Democratic Party to make a change in it from within. A taste of direct democracy is now being demonstrated in the ongoing Tahrir square style protest around Wall Street.

May be we can call this Democratic Christian revivalists as "What would Jesus do" crowd, who would follow true humanitarian calling of Jesus, which is also very much in collective national self interest, compared to the destructive libertarian ideas from atheist Ayn Rand. Or we can also call them Social Conservative Democrats, who would try to get the lion's share of the older white folks in both Red and Blue states, while minorities such as Blacks, Hispanics and Asians are already majority social conservatives who may support and join this group.
