I used to stay in various Sakura House for almost 4 years. I never had any problems. I met loads of nice people and the ones who stayed for longer periods became like a second family to me. I stayed at 4 different locations some better than others, but all of them were really nice. I especially liked the tatami rooms they provide.
If you are coming to Japan for the first time and don't speak Japanese, Sakura House is probably the best choice you've got. All of their staff members speak English, so no problem there.
