Probably has more to do with copyright infringement and less to do with anime per se, if you ask me. I also read an article a few days ago saying that sites like youtube, vidilife etc are putting enormous strain on the internet, to the point that some authorities have suggested taking them down permanently. That would obviously mean the end of free episode access for many anime fans. Hopefully this suggestion will never be effectuated.
