This thread is basically for those who think they're just about as Otaku as they come or want to add to the list.

You know you're Otaku when:

You sing along to the openings and endings
Anime is your Life
You Cosplay for no reason except that you feel like it
You live by Equivalent Exchange
If you were to lose a limb, it would have to be replaced with metal, not synthetics
Your MP3 player and Computer are loaded with nothing but Anime music
You find yourself drawing a Transmutation Circle and placing a broken object on it, hoping it would work.
You clap your hands together for no reason
You're writing the names of people you hate in a black notebook
You spaz when someone says Anime is for Children
You hate it when someone says calls Anime a Cartoon
You know the Haruhi Dance

You get annoyed when people dont know the difference between "manga" and "anime"

You learnt how to say "I'll kill you" or "I'll protect you" in Japanese through watching anime. o__o

You also know the Lucky Star Dance, both the opening version and the cheerleading version.

You name your pets after anime animals, like Kisa or Momo. (This applies to me ^__^)

You have learned most basic Japanese phrases, like 'arigatou', 'daijoubu' and 'onegai'. Not only that, but you know the more formal ways to say them, too.

At least one of your hats has cat-ears on it.

You feel so attached to a particular Anime series that you feel lost for a few weeks when you've finished watching it.

You blow off your friends for a new anime premiere
You can't see any man/woman as a potential bf/gf unless they remind you of your fav character

Any major University or College project that you have a choice in, is somehow related to Anime.

No matter what it is, if it resembles Anime-style art, you are drawn to it
You were clothing resembling your love for Anime

A little twist on the topic: You know you've watched too many romance anime when...

...You start recognizing popular female voice-actors
...You learn how to confess your love 5 different ways just through the shows
...You can't stand an anime without a love interest any longer (Other than FMA, because FMA is too badass for love...Just like Chuck Norris.)

and ask your friend if she/he's seen any of the mangas or anime that your trying to collect in any of the book stores she/he's been in

you know you're otaku when
 

you give your friends nicknames from anime/manga (hachi, nana, reira, etc.)
you start a club at school just to talk anime/manga/music

Go into withdrawl after finishing an anime because there's nothing left of it to watch

You acually shoplifted Manga. (it's true)

Otaku extreme
 

1) when you only watch Japanese anime on tv or anything that says anime.
2) when you get mad at people who pronounce Naruto wrong
3) when you have all the details right and had remember every war off Gundam seed, including the bad guys and what is a coordinator.
4)when you cry when a character dies

But it's all good.

when you correct your parents everytime they call anime cartoons

when you have to correct misinformation on what anime is to your family

You think everyday about how cool it would be if life was anime.
You get mad when your friend says the anime you're making should have an english theme.
You ARE unstoppable with a sword:)
