Japanese Theme Vs. English Theme

Ok, my friend hasn't seen very much anime at all. He's only seen about 2 episodes. Well, we are working on an anime and he insists that it should have an english theme song. I keep telling him that they sound stupid and nearly anyone who watches anime thinks the Japanese themes sound way better.
I think I know the answer but-to show him-I'll ask anyway. Which do you think is better: an Japanese or English Theme Song?

P.S. He also thinks the manga should read Left to Right...:chikasfrown:

For me the japanese theme  I think it sounds much better

KEEP MANGA RIGHT TO LEFT!

Theme songs need to stay original. That is why anime themes should be in Japanese. Also, tell your friend that manga is suppose to be read from right to left.

Im pretty neutral on the theme song subject because some anime theme songs are actually half english (try Heroes Comeback, the naruto shippuden 1st op) but if i were pushed a bit i'd chose japanese.

P.S. Some non-genuine manga is read left-right, ask your whacked out friend to try those.

It depends on the setting of the anime. If there's a distinct Japanese feel to a show, then it'd make sense for it to have a Japanese theme. However, for an anime such as Cowboy Bebop, an English theme works very well.

I agree with Hatredcopter.

I like the partial japanese-partial english themes as well but the all-english themes I've heard suck(One piece).

and yes, I have told him that true manga read right to left but he doesn't like it. I'll convince him eventually:)
