Anime- Sailor Moon. Watched that when I was like 6 or 7.
Manga- Naruto, although I gave up on it long ago...

Pokémon.
I had gotten introduced to Sailor Moon and Robotech when I was very young, so I was always aware of anime throughout my growing-up. However, Pokémon is what really sucked me in. At my age, I was especially susceptible to it; I was totally hooked.

Sailor Moon was my childhood. I didn't realize it was anime then, though. I got into Japanese culture later on, and then I got into anime and manga because they were Japanese.

It all started with Pokemon and Digimon... Slowly I got introduced to InuYasha and I exploded from there.

I was never raised as a Sailor Moon child, but I watch it today sometimes. I don't have cable and it was only on cable. What a treat it was to rarely watch it at a friend's house. :)

First anime I watched was either pokemon, mew mew power, inuyasha, or sailor moon..i can't quite remember....
But for teh manga, probably fruits basket or something similar to that :3

DBZ or Pokemon probably got me interested but more DBZ than pokemon.

The first Anime I watched was Blue Gender and from then on I was hooked

sailor moon got me interested in anime and manga!!! definatley then there was yugi-o and naruto. omgness my fave movie is hawls moving castle lovved it :marusmile:

i would have to say elvin lied was the first time i really watched anime. I always though it was stupid, japanese kiddy porn. my friend forced me to watch it, needless to say i sat down and watched the entire series in one sitting and have been hooked since.

sure showed my stupid self.

Sailor Moon did it for me, got obsessed then fell out of the anime loop for quite some time and then Elfen Lied pulled me back in.

wow, something similar happened to me. When I was a little girl I used to watch Sailor Moon, and some years ago, the one who really got me into anime was Elfen Lied n.n

i bet i watched anime first but i didnt realize it was ..
just thought it were kewl commics .. that would've been ranma1/2 , detective conan, drSlump (arale) and shin chan i guess ^^ probably pokemon as well but i started with the game and also liked it way more than the anime

the first manga i read was dragon ball
some kind of a big brther of mine took them to a haliday trip and so he let me read it .. i started with number 17 =) and i first read it the wrong way .. didnt see the site where the "read backwards" is written
.. so goku had a hole in his chest suddenly and then after a beam it vanished xD
well i was small back then ..
after i finished he told me i read it backwards .. so that was the time when i got interested in them and i went into the town to read all dragon ball manga .. since i was only seeng that "brother" pretty seldom..

hmm the first manga i read was Yu-Gi-Oh and my first dubbed anime's was Pokemon and Digimon first anime i saw whit japanese dialogue was Love Hina

It's hard to name only 1 favorite anime/manga :P
I started with Dragon Ball, Saber Rider and Star Sheriffs, Mado King Granzort it's always nice to return to those good old anime series.

I'd mention only few anime out of dozen of others i like, and i can't really chose which is my favorite:
Both anime and manga: Clamp's X, Angel Sanctuary, Berserk
Anime: Wolf's Rain, Elfen Lied, Gungrave, Neon Genesis Evangelion

I personally like anime with deep involving storyline and dark atmosphere, with action elements; noble/aristocrats, vampires, serious themes etc. On the contrary I sometimes kill time with bright anime such as Great Teacher Onizuka, Yakitate Japan, Golden Boy...

Millenium Actress is the first anime I remember actually sitting and watching, but I would have preferred live actors for that work. It wasn't until Descendants of Darkness that I actually began to enjoy the anime.

I am still not into manga. The only one I have read was only because the author handed me a copy of one of his books. When it comes to reading fiction I am even older than my years. Give me Asimov, Huxley, Balzac, Maupassant, or something my buddy Robin Bailey.

Sailor Moon was the first one I saw, but Dragon Ball Z made me a fan. Still one of my favorites.

In manga I do like Hanayori dango and in anime I do like the story of Gakuen Alice...

one of the first anime i saw was full metal alchemist. great show.

Anime: I would say Tenchi Muyo, but, that was when I didn't know about Anime. So I'll say InuYasha(The 2nd anime I watched), because I was really interested how the characters were drawn and how different they are from my other favorite cartoons like Tom and Jerry :B.

Manga: Loveless. Thats when I found out about yaoi, shonen-ai and other related genres ;D.

I never seen the last episode of InuYasha....I don't think I'll ever will.

I watched Gundam, CCS, and Sailor Moon back in the day...*sigh* those were good days. LOL
