Which anime/manga got you interested in anime/manga?
 

The title says it all. Name the anime and/or manga that got you interested in anime and/or manga.
For me it was-

For manga: Zodiac P.I. Vol. 2
For anime: Pokemon/Ojamajo Doremi

I suppose it would be card captors, but I only really got into anime/manga 5 years ago when I started reading Naruto^^

Anime: Naruto
Manga: Excel Saga

Anime: Cowboy Bebop
Manga: I THINK it was Love Hina

The manga of Naruto really drew me into this sorta thing...But I hate the anime of it, "Believe it!" >_<

Also, the anime Chobits really got me into anime...Lol

I work in a library and had been reading romance/fantasy novels, but decided to look at the manga that was being checked out so much. Someone recommended Fruits Basket (with the romance and fantasy)--this manga rocks.....I've been hooked ever since! LOL! Probably alot sooner than that if Dragon ball Z hadn't turned me off! The fight scenes in that anime were really slow! :pandasleep: :D

I think I have to say Fruits basket... in like, 8th grade or something. 5-6 years ago.

i got into anime from watching dragon ball z, and i got into manga from reading shonen jump.

Ranma 1/2 manga and anime from Viz...

Ronin Warriors, although I had no idea it was anime at the time. I loved the art and went in search of similarly drawn "cartoons." I discovered that it was anime and I've been in love ever since.

As for manga, I think it was Fake and Fullmetal Alchemist.

For me, it was really DBZ. I had seen anime before but did not know that it was anime. DBZ was when I realized what anime was

I guess Naruto since my friend was over at my house and we were looking for something to watch and we got to Cartoon Network and Naruto was on and I asked her if it was any good and she said 'Yeah'. And ever since then I've been watching anime. But if you want to know my first anime I would have to say Salior Moon but when I saw it I never knew it was an anime because I was like 5 or 6 and I thought of it as a cartoon like every other show I watched.

Inuyasha and bleach for me and the dubbed version no less ( i hang my head in shame). I think Chobits was the lock that made me start really hunting around for interesting animes. I have a few mangas around but I prefer anime. :rheart:

Anime : DragonBall Z I hadn't realized it was a Japanese anime until I started my manga collection.

Manga : Inuyasha

Oops : My very first Anime was Astro Boy.....^_^

Naruto was the first anime I've seen(except for Pokemon and Digimon).

Hmmm i think Tonari no totoro is what got me into anime but manga i think it would have to be a magazine i read Shojo beat, then of course my japanese course in High school helped a lot too :)

I think G Gundam was my first...then Rounin Kenshin then Trigun

when i was a kid i used to watch Ronin Warriors and sailormoon with my cousin.

I forgot Yu Yu... I loved that show....don't watch it much anymore! T-T

I never watched it to the end, tho! T-T

No they just happen to play anime shows every night from 7-11 and on weekends they have movies and end like @ 10 it's called Colours they do a lot of stuff that deals w/ japan ^_~

a year ago the only animes i knew about was: pokemon and digimon, but around this time 1 year ago a friend of mine showed me a few eps of naruto, then i got hooked... then i got borre from waiting for new eps so i started reading the naruto manga and started going on a "scout'n watch spree" basicaly scouting for animes that looks cool or has been recomended, and watch it through even tho i think it is crappy after a few eps :o

For me it was Inuyasha. i used to not really like anime, and i didn't even know what manga was < yes i know lame...
but i remember my friend (which is now anti-anime< dont know why) used to mention it and i was like whatever...Then one day i was flipping through the channels and i came across it and i started to watch it and within the first few minutes i was in love with it! Same goes for Bleach, i love it now!
