Fruits Basket is better to read, imo, since the anime only covers the first six volumes of the manga.

Naruto is overrated . . .

Nah, Naruto was awesome for a reason. They messed up with Shippuuden a lot but I still like it. Naruto though will be one of my favourite Animes and the majority of people who watch it religiously, will agree with me.

I vote for Fruits Basket--I've just never been able to sit through an episode of Naruto; don't ask me why but for some reason it just doesn't connect for me.

yep! don't judge something before you read it or watched it. they are both really good series with good characters and plots and you should give BOTH of them a chance if you haven't already.

I don't ever read Manga. I prefer watching Anime then reading the Manga if I feel like its worth my time or if for example someone like you has told me that it is better. Like Trigun for example, I loved the Anime and it made me want to read the Manga to get more incite or see the bits that were different. In my experience, reading usually has more depth than its "on screen" counter parts. So I leave the best till last.
