バクマン。 Bakuman

Alright, so Bakuman is a new manga being released
in Weekly Jump by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.
It's only on it's 7th chapter, but it's REALLY good.
You can read chapter 1, for a limited time only, in English,
Japanese (and I think German too) at Jumpland.
Or you can read the 7 chapters out so far over on One Manga.
Here's the basic plot (from Wikipedia):

One day he draws a picture of Azuki Miho, a girl he is secretly fond of, during class and forgets the notebook at school. He comes back to find a boy named Akito Takagi waiting for him with his notebook. Takagi tries to convince Mashiro to become a mangaka with him, only leading to Mashiro's disagreement. Mashiro goes home and starts to think about his uncle, who was a mangaka at one point. Mashiro is interrupted by a phone call from Takagi, who says that he is going to tell Azuki that Mashiro likes her. Mashiro runs down to Azuki's house to find Takagi waiting for him. Once Azuki comes out of the door, Takagi tells her that he and Mashiro are aiming to be mangaka. Mashiro then learns that she wants to be a seiyū and has shown promise in the field. Mashiro, once again, thinking about his uncle, accidentally proposes to Azuki. Azuki promises that she will marry him, after their dreams come true, with the condition that they must not see each other until it happens.

I've been reading it and loving it so far. The only thing I don't like is the constant "HEY WE WROTE DEATH NOTE" thing they've been doing. It was funny the first time when he said "What's with that look? It's not a Death Note or anything, is it?", but after that it started getting old.

XDD

I only remember them referencing it twice....
But I like how they mention Bleach, Dragonball, etc.

And yeah, it's awesome!
I mean...maybe this manga will help
answer people's questions on how to
become a mangaka!
XDDD
Hahaha

It looks rather interesting to say the least :)

Think I'll look up more about it, thanks for sharing :)

I have been reading it and it's a great series, with loads of references to popular series.
I just finished chapter 7 and the cover to the manga they created, reminded me of Kira, because in the anime series and Manga, when he is talking to Ray Penber's wife (Can't recall her name) and he convinces her that he works with the japanese police and ask her if she wants to work with them he kind of gets in that position, am I the only one to notice this?
