Manga Kissa
 

Have you ever been to a manga kissa? That's a manga kissaten, or manga cafe. These are popular places to kill time. Usually they have aisles and aisles of manga and magazines and cost a few hundred yen an hour to hang out in. There are tables, free drinks, and cubicles with computers for internet browsing.

I saw on Youtube a Manga Cafe had opened in Paris, and wondered if there were any more outside of Japan.

Does it sound like someplace you would want to go?

yea i would like to go to kill some time. like if im waiting for an interview or just waiting for someone that would probably be a good place to kill the time.

I'd go...in Japantown in San Francisco theres only a manga rental...uh...library...thingee...(i forget the name). I havent been there as of yet, but i've heard its pretty stellar.

Interesting...I hadn't heard of one in America, before. Though in a manga kissa you can't take the books outside, only read in the cafe. In some you can rent video games and use them on monitors there.

We had one in the Philippines but unfortunately it was closed before I could go T_T (too conservative, so the cafe eventually closed)
